ELKINS — Elkins City Hall will be closed Monday, Sept. 4 in observance of Labor Day. Garbage normally picked up on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday beginning at 6 a.m.
The City of Elkins is switching to a new online payment and billing platform to streamline the billing process, while also giving customers more options. Access the new platform, named InvoiceCloud, at www.cityofelkinswv.com/online-payments.
The Finance Committee meets Thursday at 12 p.m. The agenda may be adjusted through Tuesday. Current items include: proposal for gym roof repairs and re-roofing quotes at the Phil Gainer Community Center; update on funding for the Elkins City Hall HVAC project; changes to Elkins hourly employee compensation; and review of the compensation request by Davis Avenue business owners.
Council meets Thursday at 7 p.m. The agenda may be adjusted through Tuesday. Current items include: reappointment of City Treasurer; changes to the compensation of hourly city employees; policies and agreements related to Elkins Police Department hiring incentives; proposal for repair or replacement of the gym roof at the Phil Gainer Community Center; funding for the Elkins City Hall HVAC project; and Smoker Friendly and Beander’s request for endorsement of ABCA floorplan-extension application.
There will also be a presentation to council by Davis Medical Center Community Liaison Chad Ware on the merger with Vandalia Health.
