NEW CARLISLE, Ohio (WKEF) — A New Carlisle woman now has a new, free roof and says it’s a blessing.
It’s all part of Van Martin Roofing’s ‘On the House’ program, where the community nominates other community members to win a new roof, all for free.
Out of more than 50 Miami Valley applicants, Burnadette Underwood was chosen.
Underwood says her daughter nominated her because roof water was leaking into the home’s electrical box.
“This is a blessing, it started with an act of God from my sweet daughter.,” said Underwood. “Her roof got blown off, and Van Martin came in to fix it. There was a contest, and she entered me in the contest for a new roof. I won, and I can’t tell how much a blessing it is.”
Underwood says she’ll now be able to take care of her son and her father without having to worry about roof repairs.
Senior Sales Consultant Dustin Karl say this ‘On the House’ program gives away a free roof twice a year, and nominations are already underway for the next one.
“This is an awesome time to give back, it’s the Christmas season,” said Karl. “We’re really thankful that we serve the Miami Valley and the Dayton market, and this is a way to give back to the community for a deserving family.”
You can nominate a deserving community member at Van Martin Roofing’s website.
