WATERTOWN — Arizona Roofing of Wolcott donated the labor to complete a 30+ square roof replacement for a veteran in Watertown. Materials for the project were donated by Owen’s Corning and Metro Roofing Supplies. The project originated with a request from the veteran, who has asked not to be identified, to Purple Heart Homes USA. The veteran asked for help in replacing a roof that was leaking, badly damaged and had deteriorated to the point that it needed to be stripped down to the rafters.
The team at Arizona Roofing completed the project in two days.
The scope of the project included stripping the old roof, plywood, gutters and clearing trees and overgrown vegetation to access the roof. AZ Roofing installed new plywood, fascia boards, shingles, gutters, soffits and vents to complete the project.
Local coordination was provided by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury. Those seeking more information may visit habitatforhumanityct.org and purplehearthomesusa.org.
