Kansas City Heart Ball Raises Funds and Awareness for Life Saving Research
Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans. That’s why we continue to partner with the American Heart Association to raise awareness and critical funds for heart research. Our very own Bryan Busby and Jamie Weiss emceed the Kansas City Heart Ball this weekend. The event raised over $600,000 to help continue its life saving work. Heart Ball Sponsor and CEO at Shamrock Roofing, Garen Armstrong, explains heart issues can affect anyone at anytime. He suffered from a virus that put him into heart failure unexpectedly. The only way he’d live was through a heart transplant. He waited nearly three years and thought we was in the clear when he received the gift of life. Recently, Garen became extremely ill and had to undergo open heart surgery once again – this time for a valve repair. He urges everyone to listen to their body and know the warning signs, because it can happen to anyone. You can learn more and support the American Heart Association HERE.
