Work has begun on the Madison County Courthouse to repair damage from Hurricane Idalia. According to Madison County Clerk of Court Billy Washington, the total cost for the repair work is $849,975.35, with the majority being paid from insurance. The county will be responsible for $126,046.60 in deductibles and $81,190.62 in depreciation costs. Washington said the depreciation costs may be recovered once the work is completed.
